Places Worth Remembering

Some places just stick with you.

Sometimes it's the view, sometimes it's the food you can't stop thinking about, and sometimes it's a completely random moment that ends up becoming your favorite part of the whole trip. Checked In is where I share those places and the stories that came with them. The places worth going back to, the hidden gems I stumbled across, the food absolutely worth ordering, the things that lived up to the hype, and even the things I'd probably skip next time. No perfect itineraries. No pretending every trip goes exactly according to plan. Just honest experiences, really good memories, and hopefully a little inspiration for wherever you check in next.

A few places that left a lasting impression.

Salem

Two spooky girls finally made it to Salem in October... and mostly ate and shopped. Phenomenal seafood, spooky little shops, fall leaves, and plenty of reasons to go back.

The Bahamas

Beautiful blue water, swimming with sharks, and somehow ending the day with soup and hot chocolate. Because apparently that's how I vacation.

Kentucky

Kentucky keeps giving me reasons to come back. From small towns and hidden gems to good food, beautiful places, and plenty still left to explore, this is one destination you'll probably see a lot around here.

A Little Note From Me

Hi, I'm Ashley.

I started Checked In because I've always loved to travel. Some of my favorite memories have come from getting on a plane, jumping in the car, going somewhere I've never been, and seeing what happens.

I've been lucky enough to travel to some pretty incredible places over the years, and I genuinely love everything about it. I love experiencing somewhere new, trying food I've never had before, finding the places you don't necessarily hear everyone talking about, and coming home with stories that I'll probably be telling for years.

And that's really why I wanted to start Checked In.

I don't want this to be another travel blog filled with perfectly planned itineraries and generic lists of things you could find with a quick Google search. I want to tell you what the trip was actually like.

The places I loved. The food that was so good I'm still thinking about it. The things that were absolutely worth the hype. The things that weren't. The random little moments that somehow became some of my favorite memories from the entire trip.

Like swimming with sharks in the Bahamas and somehow ending the day eating soup and drinking hot chocolate on the back porch.

Or finally making it to Salem in October and realizing Rebecca and I spent most of our bucket-list day eating and shopping instead of doing any of the touristy things we'd planned.

That's the stuff I want to remember. And that's the stuff I want to share here.

Some of these trips will be big adventures. Some will be quick weekend getaways or random day trips. And some of the stories I share might be from years ago because I've already been to some incredible places, and those stories deserve a spot here too.

I'm going to tell you where I went, what I loved, what I'd skip, what I'd absolutely do again, what I ate, and all the little things that made each trip what it was.

And hopefully, somewhere along the way, you'll find somewhere you want to go, something you want to try, or maybe just the little push you needed to finally book the trip you've been talking about forever.

Because at the end of the day, I don't want to just collect places I've been.

I want to collect stories worth telling.
